These things need to be in the game >.> though in what way i do not know, i think clubs could be like clans and such, or teams, and the student council may be a safe house with storage and merchants. but i want your ideas!
Clubs sounds like a great idea for teams/guilds/clans, etc.
Maybe a student council could be some place for the clubs to recruit, or get upgrades or what have you? Nowadays, groups usually have some kind of mechanic to give players an interest in being in one, even if it's superficial. Doing so gets more people into social groups, which in turns makes your game more social, and heightens the visibility of the social aspects of the game.
A student council could be where you'd get club gear or customize the aspects of your club, like if it would have a slogan or emblem or something.
Basically, a club could be the smaller, local social grouping, and the student council could be the hub between them?
I agree that clubs and student council would be a great way to substitute what would be "guilds" in other games!
As an alternative idea, though, if they were to be implemented in the game: Maybe the student council, as the appointed "government," could be the ones handing out missions, or quests. Clubs, on the other hand, could work in a way similar to the covenants in Dark Souls. Joining a certain club would give you access to certain buffs or equipment? I don't know, just an idea - what you guys have suggested so far seems much more practical than what I'm saying.
@fyr that is what i was saying, although i would like something more origional than club gear
@arrogantRooster i do think that that is a good idea, the council giving out quests and such, not so sure about the other bit, possibly have the council just kind of manage things in general? kinda have them as a hub but incorporate the other guy's idea about teachers having shops, like, the council would be a city and the teacher shops could be little safe towns.
Yeah, the gear was just a kind of generic idea, it's a cosmetic, identifiable thing.
I'm thinking, what might be an interesting step up would be if the student council were actually in some way run by the players, who are playing the students after all. I was too lazy to flesh that idea out with a way to make it feasable, and I still am, but I figure I might as well throw it out there.
Massive Black has already said that they would like to include club/treehouses in the game. Which in turn means that they could very well have some kind of club system in the works as well. The best way to find out for sure is to get more people backing the game so we can hit the higher milestones, haha.
What about club house where its pretty much a guild house where you can put up zombie heads (Achievements) armor, music boxes, furniture, and maybe a banner
I strongly feel that each club should get their own club room. The club room should be upgradable and be used as a tool to show off you're skills and achievements. (After all, you can always visit other peoples clubs even if you do not belong)
One thing I would like to see are club level quest which would unlock something of value to the members while also allow them to show off. As well as a point system called club reputation. (I'm pretty sure you often hear of clubs being famous for something in your own school even if you've never seen them in action)
Club quests can be something like rescue an NPC, protect club room, etc Completion will net club reputation along with decorations, NPC club member who will sell you decorations, club armor or buffs for a duration at the cost money, furniture and money.
Higher reputation pts will unlock better gear, nicer decor, larger club room and (maybe) higher club members cap.
Another organization that you guys might want to consider (as an NPC organization) would be the PTA! You can't leave this evil organization out either. I say evil because what else would you call a communion consisting of teachers and parents getting together to talk about us innocent kids?
